Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British and American sitarist. She also sings. She was among the youngest and first woman to receive the British House of Commons Shield she has had Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to play live and to be a presenter for the award ceremony. Anoushka shankar is one of India's rising stars in the sitar. She is the student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was London in 1982. In during her early years, she swam in London New Delhi. Her debut performance was at New Delhi when she was only 13 years old. Then she relocated to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha was only 17 years old, has had an impressive recording and performing career. She is often seen performing with her dad and has been doing so for a long time years. Her debut solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. She has appeared at many important venues across the world. Her career doesn't just comprise music. Anoushka shankar is an English born singer who travelled her childhood split between London, Delhi and California. She began learning music at age 9 and played the sitar to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the birth of her father in Delhi four years later.
